Past Program:
May 21, 2024 - Karen Walker - Laugh Yourself into Stitches

Karen loves everything that has to do with textiles...from designing fabrics, and quilt patterns, piecing quilts, teaching classes and longarming for clients . For more information about Karen, visit her website here.
Karen has taught at the Houston Quilt Show and many others, is a fabric designer for Riley Blake, pattern designer, quilt teacher and a lot of fun!
Information about the Smoochie pattern:
What makes Smoochie different from other X’s and O’x quilts? It’s the border! The pinwheels and half square triangles are made with the leftover trimmings from Corner Triangles used in the X’s and Heart blocks.
The pattern is Fat Quarter Friendly too!

Upcoming programs:
June 18, 2024 - Susan Kreps Trunk Show
Though new to northern Whatcom County and Pieceables, Susan is certainly not new to quilting. Encouraged by her mother, she learned to sew during the summer of her 10th year, and began quilting in the late 1990s, looking for a hobby on which to focus to escape the chaos of living with two teen-aged sons.
If Susan had to describe her quilting journey, it would likely be called "Chapters of Quilting". She worked her way, often using trial and error, through many methods and variations of quilting, moving from practice of one skill to another. Sometimes the process is simply enjoyment of fabric and color, sometimes it's a way to maintain her sanity in an often insane world. Her trunk show offers the opportunity to watch the chapters unfold, with at least one chapter that she can say with confidence you are unlikely to hear shared by any other quilter.
