February 16, 2021 - Tammy Silvers - "Seeing Double"
Tammy has been quilting since 1991.She has also taught at a variety of quilt shops as well as online (check out her Quick Quilted Gifts class on Bluprint!), and designs and self-publishes her own quilt patterns under the label Tamarinis.
Learn more about her on her website by clicking here.
Ever wonder - what would this quilt look like if I made it in another color way? If I used plaids and stripes instead of florals? Well, I can't tell you what EVERY quilt would look like, but we can explore some practical examples together! In a fun format, we will compare quilts made in florals versus batiks, reproduction fabrics versus crisp modern prints, brights versus pastels. Gather inspiration and insight into the choices for your next project!
This will be an online Zoom class. The link will be sent to all members. You need a device with a camera which can be your phone, tablet, or computer. If you don't have zoom on your device, simply open the link in your email on your device and it will launch zoom and you can choose to install. You can practice that by attending a zoom meeting of the guild before this program. If you do not have the ability to do it, but have a friend or family member in which you can go to their house, that is another option.
December 15, 2020 - Drive by Christmas Party!
Our 2020 Christmas party was one to remember! Certainly not the usual state of affairs due to the pandemic restrictions. But none the less, many brave souls came out in the wind and rain as we mingled with masks under the porch cover of the church. Prizes for the President's Challenge was handed out as well as small gift packages for all who attended. Everyone brought some non-perishable food items for Nancy to take to the food bank. And we were all grateful that Virginia shared her infamous chocolate covered cherries! YUM!! Other business like donating for the penny basket, turning in dues, and turning in/picking up tickets/money for the raffle quilt was also conducted. And last but certainly not least we presented our out going President Merdie, with a quilt made by the group and presented by Sue, the past president. Please enjoy the photos!
Guests are welcome to our programs for a $5.00 fee. If you have any questions about attending a program please submit your questions below.
